Biography

In 2006, when Majorcan Llorenç Rosselló decided to post his first songs as Poomse –then a lo-fi bedroom project- on Myspace, they immediately aroused the interest of Foehn Records. The Barcelona-based indie label released ‘Tomorrow will come & it will be fine’ (2010), first album of Poomse and meeting point between folk, pop and slowcore with names like Come, Low, Red House Painters or Codeine -of whom Poomse covered ’ Loss leader’- in the background. A few months later, Foehn published ‘Star EP’ (2011), collecting four more experimental songs.

At this point, Rosselló decided to widen his personal project with the addition of Gaspar Reixach (bass) and Josep Verdera (drums) to present his first two recordings live in Mallorca (opening for Clem Snide or Evening Hymns), Barcelona or London (selected by the The Great Escape festival).

In 2012, Sebastià Mesquida (guitar) and Joan Llabrés (replacing Verdera) joined Poomse and the band began work on new compositions by Rosselló. These new songs became ‘Poomse vs the Kingdom of Death’ (2014). The record was mastered by John Golden (Low, Sonic Youth, The New Year) and it meant a giant step forward from their previous recordings.z

Their third album ‘This is how we fail’ (2016) was released through Espora Records in Spain and through Custom Made Music in the US.

Biography

Astrolabio is a music band from Mallorca. While it existed under many names and forms, it was only in 2008 when Astrolabio lends its name to this particular and nondescript formation of four elements. Through the songs, Astrolabio gets in the world of occultism from parallel sounds and screeching cosmic systems.

The project undertaken by Carlos, Jaume, Albert and Xesc wants to knock your mind out.

Biography

Spring 2012, four friends from other bands of the Majorcan scene (Astrolabio, Petröleo, Hattori Hanzo Surf Experience and Monta-man) unite to form a new band that recovers the spirit of the Spanish pop-rock of the 80s. Songs came in a natural form and soon they found that the nexus of every single song was black humour, provocation, love of crime news and a come-back to the era of dictator Franco. They were like fish trapped in the underground net, and they fell they were in their element.

In 2014 after the recording of their second album, Alberto “Petröleo” (guitar) and Tuti “Hattori” (drummer), had to leave the band and two new members arrived: Jaume “Astrolabio” and Ginés (from the band Orquidea). In 2015 they played two festivals in Mallorca (“Summer Pie” y Rostoll), and one in mainland Spain (Monkey Week). Next step was to release a record with an official label and that happened in 2016 with “El novio de la muerta”, released by Espora Records. Good reviews and gigs in Ibiza, Madrid and Barcelona.

These last months Los Bélmez are working at the rehearsal space writting songs of the next record. It will explore new territories like power-pop, glam-rock and 70’s rock, and influenced by The Velvet Underground, The Jesus & Mary Chain & David Bowie.

Los Bélmez are the bad boys of Palma. In a scene full of young handsome and politically correctness, they say they don’t want to be #1, they just want to infect your soul with their unique sickness.
